Dine for a Change!

Would you like to be part of a city wide movement to end sexual assault? Participating is easy!

San Francisco Women Against Rape (SFWAR) invites you to dine at one of the many and diverse restaurants participating in Dine for a Change on June 4th, 2009!

SFWAR is asking our donors as well as the public-at-large to patronize participating restaurants on June 4th, 2009. In turn, we ask participating restaurants to donate 25%-40% of total food and beverage sales to SFWAR on that day.

Dine for a Change is a great way for restaurants to gain new patrons and customers, raise visibility for their business and contribute to the well-being of the community by taking a stand against sexual violence. Participating in Dine for a Change is a good way for individuals to support our local businesses and help bring awareness to the problem of rape and sexual assault.

Get your friends together for a fun dining experience while supporting a good cause! Tell your favorite restaurant about the opportunity to support the community! Help us spread the word!

Get Involved...Walk Against Rape

Walk Against Rape!
Walk Against Rape!

Come walk with us for a great cause!

San Francisco Women Against Rape invites you to participate in our 4th annual Walk Against Rape. As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Walk Against Rape will be held on April 25th, 2009.

The walk is a celebration that empowers survivors, their friends, families and supporters, and serves to break the silence by walking together on the streets against rape, and declare that San Francisco will not tolerate sexual violence.

It is a 3.1 mile walk starting at Justin Herman Plaza at 10am and culminating in a rally at noon in Dolores Mission Park. Walkers will arrive in the park to find festivities such as speakers, performances, vendors, the Clothesline Project on display, prizes for the highest fundraisers, several community organizations offering information and resources, and food and drink.

At SFWAR, we believe that no single individual, organization, foundation, or business alone can stop the epidemic of sexual assault, but by responding as a whole community, we each bring our piece of the solution. This is where your participation counts!

Join us as we make visible what has historically been silenced and invisible.

To register go to www.firstgiving.com/sfwar or register morning of the event.
